FAQ

What is the quality of prints available for purchase?
The Limited Edition Giclee prints we offer are printed on either waterproof canvas or acid free Somerset Velvet paper with archival Ultrachrome ink that is rated to last up to 100 years in a frame or 200 years in an album.  Giclee prints do not fade like posters or lithographs, which are printed on poster paper with ink that fades with light exposure.

What is a Giclee print?
Giclee, usually pronoused zhee-clay, is a French word, meaning spraying of ink. The giclee process is an art in itself. We are pleased to team up with Renee Childs of Harmonic Design.  She is masterful with color adjusting of digital scans of the original artwork. After the artist compares the prints with the original artwork for the closest match possible, the high resolution files are then printed on an inkjet printer by spraying tiny droplets of ink onto a flat media, such as high quality art paper or waterproof canvas.

How are Giclee prints perceived by the art community and art collectors?
Giclee prints are regarded highly in museums and galleries throughout the world. They are a preferred collectible, established medium in the fine art community.  Each of our Giclee Limited Edition prints are signed and numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity.

Should I order canvas or paper?
It is purely a matter of preference depending on the style of the artwork you hang in your home.  The canvas prints can be varnished and framed without a matte or glass, much like an original oil painting. The Somerset Velvet paper has a wonderful watercolor paper texture and accepts the color in an absolutely beautiful way.  It is designed to be matted and framed under glass, much like a pastel, water color or print.  I actually prefer the color on the Somerset Velvet paper.
